Most Cherished PR: 29:10 – 5 mile at the 1994 Runners World New Year’s Eve Midnight run in Central Park, NYC. (and) 3:23 Philadelphia Marathon 1994. Ran 25 minutes faster after imploding at Marine Corps Marathon 3 weeks earlier.

Why I Run: I run because it is my time for me. No music, no kids, no phone. Just peace and quiet out in nature. It makes me realize how good I have it and what it feels like to be alive.

Most Cherished PR: 23:54 Clean Air Dash 5K ~ An 1:16 improvement over my best and 5 weeks after a failed attempt to break the 4 hour mark at my 3rd marathon in 329 days.

Why I Run: It has transformed me in so many ways I never thought possible; physically, mentally, spiritually. It has allowed me to reconnect with the person I really want to be. Introduced to me to a world I did not know existed. Allowed me to meet and befriend some amazing people and as cliché as it sounds, “Running simply makes me happy.”
