The event will benefit a local Pittsburgh Charity, Amachi www.amachimentoring.org which helps kids in need with a strong mentoring program. Last year, with your help, we were able to donate over 350 toys to the program. We humbly ask all participants to bring a new toy with them on race morning or to packet pick up to donate to this very worthwhile charity. Thank you for your generosity and willingness to make a child happy this Christmas season.

Course Description

Both the 10K and 5K Course will take place entirely on the Panhandle Trail and both are an out and back. The courses are designed for pure speed being fairly flat with an ever so slight downhill coming back. Surface is crushed limestone over an old railbed.

The Race will run from Oakdale towards Walkers Mill and back.

Awards

Awards for both races will be: Top 3 overall male and female winners plus top 3 female and male in each of the following categories: 14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and up. Top overall male and female masters winners will receive awards. All pre-registered participants (by 11/20/11) are guaranteeed a long sleeve tee in the packets as our thanks for giving of your time and money to this worthy cause. Those registering for both races will receive a bonus gift. Late registrants will receive them while supplies last.

We ask all participants to bring a new toy with them on race morning or to packet pick up to donate to this very worthwhile charity. Thank you for your generosity and willingness to make a child happy this Christmas season.

Post Race Activities

Back for the 12th year will be the hugely popular Soup Buffet along with the ever popular HOT Chocolate. In addition, we will have music and of course numerous prizes will be raffled. Prizes will be posted before the race is over and winners must be present to claim the prizes. Unclaimed prizes will be redrawn once after the 5K and then continuously after the 10K until all are given away.

Weather

The race will run, rain or shine or even snow. If there is a cancellation due to an extreme weather event it will be broadcast on WDVE and KDKA radio/TV and Posted no later than 6:00 am on www.eliterunners.com. No make-up date has been set as we plan on running in just about anything. It makes it more fun that way.

Parking

Parking will be done at 3 main lots in Downtown Oakdale. We will have Volunteers on hand to direct traffic in town on the main roads to direct you to the proper areas. There is limited parking at the Oakdale Community center, but a huge lot across the street and we can park behind the PNC Bank. Please pay attention to the parking monitors and try to CARPOOL if possible!

Volunteers

Regardless of age or experience, we welcome any individuals with energy, spirit and commitment to be a part of the fun of these great events. If you would like to join us as a volunteer, please contact Kevin at info@eliterunners.com
